Please help! Probability will medal and fan

OpenStudy (fuzzybird):

The smoothie shop offers five fruits, strawberry, banana, pineapple, mango, and blueberry. If Tracy wants to order a smoothie with two fruits, how many different combinations are possible? A: 25 B: 20 C: 15 D: 10

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

\[\left(\begin{matrix}5 \\ 2\end{matrix}\right) = 10\]

OpenStudy (fuzzybird):

so it's 10?

OpenStudy (fuzzybird):

That's what I thought but I thought if you put two fruits of the same kind then it would be 15 so I was indecisive.

OpenStudy (dcher03):

i think its A.25 because u have 5 different probabilities for each fruit and u have 5 fruits so, u do 5(probabilities per fruit) times 5(different fruits)

OpenStudy (dcher03):

does that make sense? I am just learning this so, I think that is the answer

OpenStudy (fuzzybird):

It does. Thank you!

OpenStudy (dcher03):

can i get a medal plz. ?

OpenStudy (fuzzybird):

Yes one moment.
