Is anyone good at middle school math?

OpenStudy (erak):

Good enough, what's your question?

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

what is the question

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

What is the surface area of the figure? A. 428 ft2 B. 560 ft2 C. 632 ft2 D. 888 ft2|dw:1463007385860:dw|

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

|dw:1463007506405:dw|

OpenStudy (erak):

That's a 3D L shape right

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

yeah

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

So, what do I do first

OpenStudy (erak):

It's easiest if you break the shape into segments

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

alright

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

@Erak Help?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Break up the shape into individual surfaces (not segments) in such a way that each individual side is shown, along with its dimensions. Try doing that; once you're done, I'll provide feedback. You need to find the area of all the individual surface areas that make up the whole, and then sum them up.

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

okay, thank you

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You're welcome. But are you going to use the comments given you and actually do some work that you could share?

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

yes that's what I'm trying to do @mathmale
