hi

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

hey! can you please help @smartnerd1111

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

A waffle cone has a height of 7 inches and a diameter of 3 inches. What is the volume of ice cream that can be contained within the cone? Use 3.14 for pi. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. 15.43 cubic inches 16.49 cubic inches 17.86 cubic inches 18.89 cubic inches

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

Just like i said in your previous question. Diameter is double the radius. Therefore its 3/2 for r. Height is 7 therefore h=7. PI is 3.14. Plug it into the formula \[\pi r^2\frac{ h }{ 3 }\]

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

Volume of a cone is given by 1/3 * pi * r * r * h r = d/2 r = radius d = diameter h = height

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

Explained Answer: 1/3 * 3.14 * 1.5 * 1.5 * 7 =your answer

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

16.485!

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

but thats not one of the options..

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

rounded

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

ok next! A cone-shaped paper cup can hold 35 cubic inches of food. If the radius of the cone is 2.4 inches, what is the height of the cone? Use 3.14 for pi. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. 5.81 inches 6.57 inches 7.89 inches 8.89 inches @smartnerd1111

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{1}{3} \pi \left(\frac{3}{2}\right)^2 7=16.4934 \]

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

@robtobey ok then?
