Why isn't the function comp_play running????

Put some debugging code into your code to figure it out. Even print statements at the beginning and end of each function will let you track down where the problem is.

Second change the way you deal the cards, it looks like every single functions deals different cards; user_play, comp_play, and compare all have their own individual draw of random cards, maybe make one function for dealing cards, one function to hold the dealers hand, another to hold the players hand, and one to compare the hands.

thanks @latinC I just made global variables and added comp_play to the last function that runs the functions individually.
