Help please! http://prntscr.com/b37t7g How do I find the M.A.D

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

The mean deviation is a measure of dispersion, A measure of by how much the values in the data set are likely to differ from their mean. The absolute value is used to avoid deviations with opposite signs cancelling each other out.

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

@ShelbyWyatt Can you help me figure this out quick please!?

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

ill try

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

Okay please dude.

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

0.75 is the answer

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

How do I work it out for part b though?

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

so well

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

since the mean is 2

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

yes

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

we will want to find how much value in the data are likely to differ from the mean

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

there are two "2"s in the data which leaves us with 6

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

6 is 0.75 of 8

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

So could you pwease put that in one sentence for me to put as part B Pwease :)

OpenStudy (shelbywyatt):

So 6 out of 8 values in the data differ from the mean which means 0.75 or 75% of the values in the data are likely to differ from the mean of "2".

OpenStudy (ebayminer126):

Okay thanks
