http://www.usatestprep.com/modules/gallery/files/96/9645/9645.png Describe the transformations that will map triangle A to triangle B and illustrate the similarity between the two triangles. A) reflect triangle A across the y-axis and then translate triangle A 5 units down B) reflect triangle A across the x-axis and then reflect triangle A across the y-axis C) translate triangle A 4 units down and then rotate triangle A 180° counterclockwise about the origin D) reflect triangle A across the x-axis and then rotate triangle A 90° counterclockwise about the origin

OpenStudy (taylor0402):

i have no idea what the answer to this one is

OpenStudy (ltrout):

One way of going through is problem is to just do what each answer choice tells you until you come up with an answer.

OpenStudy (taylor0402):

i did and i still have no idea what it is

OpenStudy (taylor0402):

it might be B but im not 100% sure

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Are they wanting triangle a on top of triangle b or just the same way?

OpenStudy (taylor0402):

i have no idea

OpenStudy (taylor0402):

ugh i hate math

OpenStudy (ltrout):

I'm guessing it's the latter. So if you look at answer choice D it is saying reflect it across the X axis which will make the top point of A on the bottom. Then it says to rotate it 90 degrees counter clockwise which will make the point be on the right side (same as triangle b) and it will be on the same lines as well. I would go with D.

ok very good observation
