http://www.usatestprep.com/modules/gallery/files/38/3878/3878.png Which BEST completes the chart? A) the governor amends the bill B) the General Assembly overrides the veto C) the Georgia Supreme Court makes the bill a law D) the citizens of Georgia vote to override the veto

OpenStudy (pkennedyy):

What do you think it is?

OpenStudy (blu_seaa):

I think it's either A or B, but I'm leaning more towards B.

OpenStudy (blu_seaa):

I'm just guessing.

OpenStudy (pkennedyy):

Bills are sent to the Governor. The Governor then has 40 days to determine whether to sign the bill — creating a law — or veto the bill. If he or she vetoes the bill, it will then go back to the chamber it originated during the next year’s session to see if they wish to override the veto. A vetoed bill requires two-thirds vote of the House/Senate in order to override, according to the “veto power” outlined in the Georgia State Constitution, Article V, Section II, Paragraph IV. In Georgia, the Governor actually has a third option. So, he or she can sign a bill making it a law, veto a bill sending it back to the General Assembly or do nothing at all. In that case, after the 40 days are up, the bill will automatically become a law.

OpenStudy (blu_seaa):

So it's C or B? I'm confused, sorry.

OpenStudy (pkennedyy):

I would personally go with B. I'm actually learning your state government today lol.

OpenStudy (blu_seaa):

Oh wow. lol Alright, thank you.

OpenStudy (roxy.girl):

NIce Job ! :3

OpenStudy (pkennedyy):
