OpenStudy (egaddindustries):

My AP World teacher explained it this way: The 4 M. A. I. N. causes of WWI: -Militarism -Alliances -Imperialism -Nationalism But, what event is specifically considered the start of WWI? Do you know?

OpenStudy (ayanaortega):

my teacher does not explain much

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

I think it's either the death of the Austria-Hungary prince or some duke. Or it could be the forming of alliances between different groups of countries, namely the allies and axis powers

OpenStudy (egaddindustries):

@wcrmelissa2001 Axis Powers were WWII. The 2 main alliances were the Allies & the Central Powers. But it wasn't that, it was Archduke Ferdinand.

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

eh? i thought they were called central powers. but then they also called themselves axis. Ah well
