find the surface area of the cylinder. use 3.14 for pie
The area of the ends is pi x r squared. r = d/2 = 1 so the ends are each pi squared. The surface of the remainder is the height (15) x the circumference (pi x d = 6.28). Multiply these out and don't forget you need two ends. Add 'em together...
Look, multiply 3.14 x 3.14 x2 Then, multiply 15 x 6.28. Then, add the two numbers together. Then write down the answer, followed by \[cm ^{2}\] That's it.
The answer's going to be about \[113 cm ^{2}\]
A(100.48 B( 97.43 C(36.28 D(33.14
Oops -- pls accept my apology. I squared pi, not the radius, for the ends, for some reason. It's 6.28 x 15, still but the ends are \[1^{2} \times \pi\] so it's 6.28 x 15 added to 2 x pi = 6.28 So, the answer is 16 x 2 x pi = 16 x 3.14 = ?
Er, make that 16 x 6.28, you idiot Biffo. I think it's time for food and bed.
