Need some help with a question of mine.
I am writing a book and I am currently on my first draft. I am wondering what would be the best way to re-write it in more detail. I have never been one for in depth detail. Thank you.
What is an example of a sentence describing a place you have in your story?
@studio-games
For instance, I am trying to describe a city with mountains around it and a forest surrounding the mountains.
What pov are you describing it from?
narration
Let me get an excerpt of it. 1 sec, let me get it.
Arkasia, the Republic's Glorious capital. It's shining mountains. Seemingly taller than the mountains are it's lush forests surrounding the very heart of our nation.
As I said, it is a draft. I havent come up with an original name for everything.
I would describe the capital a little more in depth: What kinda buildings are there? Describe the landscape.
Ohhh. Thank you.
Then describe how the capital goes into the mountains: Is there a trail? Are the mountains keeping people from leaving and entering the capital?
And then describe the forest that towers over the mountains: Does the forest start immediately after the mountains? Is there some kinda land between the forest and the mountains, like a pond/river?
How is this? Arkasia, the Republic's Glorious capital. It's cities, the most magnificent in the land. It's buildings touching the sky. It's mountains, shining like metal, protecting and encasing this wonderful place. The forests, far and wide as the eye can see. Taller than the mountains, the trees separated from the mountains by a roaring river of the deepest blue giving water to the trees that are larger than life. Surrounding the mountains keeping the air fresh and clear.
That is amazing! Good job!
Thank you very much for your help!
