I had to write a poem for school and this is what I wrote. Please tell me (please be honest!) what you think!

They Broke My Heart

When I was suffering,
He held me tight.
When I fell down,
He pulled me up.
When I cried,
He understood.
When I needed to talk,
He listened to me.
When I felt like dying,
He helped me survive.
When I loved him,
He loved me back.

They grabbed my arms,
Said I was wrong.
That I needed to leave,
Not giving me a chance to say goodbye.
They pushed me over
The border,
Saying I needed to go back home.
I tried to tell them this was my home,
But they wouldn’t listen.
When they took me away,
They broke my heart.
They pulled me from him,
The love of my life.
When they broke my heart,
He wasn’t there to pull me up.
