MEDAL PLEASE HELP 3/4 x b > 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are solving for b, so you must "undo" what is being done to b to find out what b really is. You are multiplying by 3/4, so you must divide by 3/4, on both sides, of the =. Remember, dividing by a fraction is actually multiplying by the reciprocal (flipped over fraction). Once done, b is alone on one side and you have a constant on the other side. Since this is an inequality, be sure to be certain there was no multiplication/division by a negative. If so, the inequality must be flipped the other way. Now, b > 15 (4/3). Think, (15/1)(4/3). numerator x numerator / denominator x denominator 60 / 3 = 20

OpenStudy (minamoe):

there is no = sign

OpenStudy (minamoe):

oh wait thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make that inequality sign the process is the same as for equations with the one extra rule about negatives and flipping the inequality.
