PLEASE HELP! Heres the graph and answer choices: http://prntscr.com/b3fbfa my teacher skipped my classes for this subject, so I'm not familiar at all with them! Please help!
can u write co ordinates of A, B points
Step 1) Form a right triangle (see attached) Step 2) Determine the lengths of the legs of the triangle. How long is the red side? How long is the green side? Tell me what you get here.
@jim_thompson5910 Sorry for the silly question... but what is the formula to figure out the sides?
distance between two points AB\[=\sqrt{(x2-x1)^{2}+ (y2-y1)^{2}}\]
8^2+6^2?
@Mutie you count the number of spaces or you can subtract coordinates for instance. the green line is 6 units because you count out 6 spaces or you subtract y coordinates 3 - (-3) = 3+3 = 6
the answer would be C. if you form a right triangle you will find one side is 8 and one is 6. 8^2 + 6^2 = 100. when you find the square root of 100 you will notice that the answer is 10.
you can only count out spaces or subtract coordinates if you have a vertical line or a horizontal line
10 is correct
Ah I see, thanks for the help everyone.
