Do the points in the following set lie on the same line ? Explain your answer. Show your work. A.(1,3) B.(4,2) C.(-2,4)

One way of doing this would be to find the equation of the actual line connecting points A and B. Find the slope of that line using the slope formula, and then figure out the y-intercept. Next, take the x-coeff. (-2) of point C and subst. it into your equation of the line. Does this equation correctly predict that y=4 when x=-2? If yes, the 3 points are on the same line. If not, they're not.
