Anybody wanna help me?
Any thoughts on the relationship between distance and time?
Not really, Im kind of completely lost on this, That's why im posting it here.
distance = rate * time
Sorry if it says im typing, im really not. xD
Oh ok. Do you see the formula I posted?
Yes.
Cool. Any thoughts on how to use it?
Phht, Your asking me? Not to be rude , xD I suck at math. No not really....... Let me look at my question and look a the formula
Sounds good. And yes. I am asking you. Since you will learn most effectively by thinking through any step in the process that you can do yourself. :-)
Yeah, I've met many OpenStudiers like you, im actually not new, I had another account and been wanting to make a new account for a very long time and since I got kicked from math today I just did it. Sorry if I posted this twice I am lagging
And anyway, I looked at it, im completely clueless xD @JoannaBlackwelder
I don't really care if you are new or not. The principle applies. We are trying to make an equation with distance and time as the only variables. That is what it means to make a rule for the function of relating distance d and time t.
Do you see what variable is given in the problem as a constant since we are given a value for it?
i would help if i could but i suck at math lol
Understandable, Why do you think im asking the question?
hahah
You can suck at math and still give an effort. Even just a guess...
im back. xD
I apologize for being so blunt, and did not intend to depress you at all. I am intending to encourage you to work through the problem step by step. So, do you see where it says that the rate of the cheetah is 90 ft/second? What variable do you think that would be out of distance, rate, and time?
just keep answering these little questions and you'll get the answer- (read the question before answering) 1st question-> how many feet does the cheetah travels in 1 second?
90, Since its 90 PER feet
PER second sorry
yes correct now tell this-> question 2) how many feet do you think it will travel in 2 seconds if it travels 90 feet in 1 second?
180 90 + 90
yes correct now do you know any relation between distance, speed and time?
Only relation ship I know is from the last guy, distance = rate * time
yes correct! so now well you know that the rate is 90 feet per second so just put-> rate=90 in that relation and then the equation that you would get is nothing but what the question 1 is asking for
Wait what do I put for #1, you confused me there.
okay so question 1 wants a rule/function which tells the distance "d" traveled in time "t" right
Yeah.
so we know this relation- distance= rate * time we know that the rate is 90 and we have to represent distance by "d" and time by "t" so=> distance= rate* time d= 90 *t
So is that what I would put? distance= rate* time d= 90 *t ??
yeah :)
okay now the 2nd one okay
for the second one they are asking - how much distance will be traveled in 25secs
90 x 25? xD
yes correct! :)
Sorry my website crashed.
@*Poker-Face* So anyway thank you SO much for your help.
good job
