a fragment is a part of a sentence that isnt a complete thought, or it leaves you with missing information, so what do you think the answer might be?
What do you think the answer is?
i thought it was d..
well look at D. we lost power during the storm last night it answers what we lost, when it was, and what happened To be a sentence, groups of words need to have at least one independent clause. An independent clause is any group of words that contain both a subject and a verb and can stand on its own.

alright lets look at the answer choices, c. mom says we should not open the refridgerator until the powers back on . this is a complete sentence, it answers the questions should not open what? and until when? if it were a fragment it would be something like "until the powers back on" B. dad thinks the power will return in the afternoon thats also complete, it answers Who think, and what they think fragment "thinks the power will return in the afternoon" A. a. until the thunderstorm out the power last night thats not right :/ what was happening before the power went out? we will never know because its missing a little bit of the sentence also "thunderstorm out the power" ^^ that just dosent make sense :P
