Please help. Algebra 1, rational and irrational inequalities.

OpenStudy (studio-games):

OpenStudy (mww):

rational means you can simplify or express the answers as a fraction involving whole numbers in simplest form.

OpenStudy (studio-games):

I know that I am just not the best with this kind of thing.

OpenStudy (mww):

well can you simplify your terms any further?

OpenStudy (studio-games):

No.

OpenStudy (mww):

Are you sure. What is sqrt(4) or sqrt(25)

OpenStudy (studio-games):

Oh yeah

OpenStudy (studio-games):

2 and 5

OpenStudy (mww):

the point is the radical (sqrt) sign doesn't necessarily mean the number is irrational. Only if the radical is used on a number that is not a perfect square.

OpenStudy (studio-games):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (mww):

so sqrt(4) sqrt(9) sqrt(16) etc. all rational

OpenStudy (studio-games):

ok thank you very much.
