A bicycle rental company charges a fixed amount plus a fee based on the number of days for which the bicycle is rented. The graph below shows the amount paid for a different number of days to rent the bicycle: A graph titled Bicycle Rentals plots the Number of Days on the x axis and the Amount in dollars on the y axis. A straight line joins the ordered pairs 0, 60 and 4, 180. What is the fixed amount charged? $30 $60 $120 $180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the fixed amount charged is going to be the amount that is always constant. In this case it should be intersection with the y axis because that amount is always charged no matter how long the bicycle is rented. In this case what do you think it will be? (I will continue helping you get this answer)

OpenStudy (alphina):

$30?

OpenStudy (alphina):

A

@langenstroer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well that is the slope of the line which I do not think is the fixed amount but the continuous rate at which the people are charged. In this case the fixed rate is $60 because that is where the intercept is and the constant fee for renting the bicycle

OpenStudy (alphina):

oh so what your saying is people are charged $60? @langenstroer

OpenStudy (sachintha):

Try to take a screenshot of the graph and attach it here. Only you can access the above link.
