Hayhayz (hayhayz):

http://prntscr.com/b4s95n @imqwerty Using complete sentences, explain how to find the maximum value for each function and determine which function has the largest maximum y-value.

imqwerty (imqwerty):

okay so 1st lets find the maximum value of f(x) we have this-> \(f(x)=2cos(x)\) 1st tell this-> what is the range of \(cos(x)\)

imqwerty (imqwerty):

\(f(x)=2\underbrace{cos(x)}\) f(x) will be maximum when this part attains its maximum value and the maximum value of "\(cos(x)\)" is 1 so when cos(x) becomes 1 f(x) will get its maximum value so maximum value of f(x) will be -> \(f(x)=2cos(x)\) [ for f(x) to be maximum cos(x) must be maximum so cos(x)=1 ] maximum value of f(x)=2 x 1 =2

imqwerty (imqwerty):

okayy so now we need to ffind the maximum value of g(x) well they have given us the graph of g(x) and in that graph the value of "g(x)" is plotted on y axis so to find the maximum value of g(x) you just need to look at the graph and the maximum "y" value you see there is the maximum value of g(x) look- http://prntscr.com/b4skad the max value is 3
