help me please

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

so far i know the length= 8 width= 2 height=12 and i know the volume of the cereal box is 192 cubic units because 8*2*12=192 and i know the surface area is 272 square units because 24+24+96+96+16+16=272

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

Calculate the cost of manufacturing a standard cereal box if cardboard costs $0.05 per square inch.

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

@jhonyy9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so than what is your question here - ? bc. you are right how i saw it now

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

Calculate the cost of manufacturing a standard cereal box if cardboard costs $0.05 per square inch.

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

how do i do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you know the surface area equal 272 square inch - yes ?

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

yah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and you know that 1 square inch has a cost of $0,05 so use the rule of 3 simple do you know it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you here please ?

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

i dont really remember can u refresh my memory

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 square inch has a cost $0,05 272 square inch --- $x --------------------------- x= 272*0,05/1 = ? $

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. ?

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

136

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 272 time 0,05 = ? how you got 136 bc. not is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is not 0,5 there is 0,05

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

wait let me re cal this

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

oh i see i meant to put 13.6 not 136

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so than what will be the right cost ?

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

13.6

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes exactly

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

oh okay thank you so much!!

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

also i have to Design a new cereal box that will hold the same amount of cereal but reduce manufacturing costs. Prove that your new design holds the same amount but can be manufactured more cheaply. any advise?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np was my pleasure and hope you understand it now sure right

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

any advise on the question i posted above?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so than i understand it right so than you ned minimize make smaler the surface area but the volume of cereal remain the same cantitie - yes ?

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

yah i think so

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

it has to hold the same amount but cheaper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok we can tray it but please post it in openquestion column

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):

so you want me to make a new post?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sure

OpenStudy (song_of_the_sole):
