How does Odysseus keep the Cyclops from coming to help Polyphemus?

In the story he lies about his name, calling himself "no one". Everytime a cyclopes asked a question, Polyphemus would try to tell them, but with the name change, it made it seem that Polyphemus was okay, and all that "shi-bang". PLus the rock covered the cave, so its not like the other cyclopes would see that Polyphemus was actually blind and that there was humans in his cave.
