OpenStudy (chris215):

.

OpenStudy (chris215):

i think its III.

OpenStudy (phi):

I don't see how any are true. I ) in the 1st quadrant both x and y^2 are positive so dy/dx is positive i.e. slope is positive so I is out.

OpenStudy (phi):

II x will be negative in QII and QIII. and of course y^2 is positive. so x/y^2 is neg in those quadrants. i.e. slope is negative. so II is out .

OpenStudy (chris215):

oh okk tangents will be vertical at the x axis

OpenStudy (phi):

slope = x/y^2 will be different for every (x,y) pair. if we move up (in a column) x is the same , by y changes so x/y^2 changes. that means III is out

OpenStudy (chris215):

ok thank you!

OpenStudy (phi):

I would say "none of the above"

OpenStudy (chris215):

yeah ill just do tht thanks:)
