OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Derivative ?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

y= (sqrt x) / x The x on bottom confuses me. I know if it were just sqrt x it would be 1/2x^(-3/2)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Your function is a QUOTIENT. Apply the Quotient Rule to differentiate it.

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

\(y=\dfrac{\sqrt x}{ x} = \dfrac{1}{ \sqrt{x}}= x^{1/2}\)

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

\[\Huge y=\dfrac{\sqrt x}{ x} = \dfrac{1}{ \sqrt{x}}= x^{\color{red}{-}1/2}\]
