CHACKO

alones (alones):

oH i was saying check. Mkay

alones (alones):

What is the solution set of 6x 2 - 24 = 0 and so i got 2,-2 but my choice is -2,2

alones (alones):

Hm i was saying \[ 6x^2 - 24 = 0\]

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

I'll ask something a little more interesting: Find the geometric body defined by the points "J" on the plane, such that the distance from such points "J" to the line \(x=-3\) is equal to two times the distance from point J to \(P(1,4)\).

alones (alones):

o.m.g but i don't do geometry

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

You can do it :D

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

@rebeccaxhawaii

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

"and so i got 2,-2 but my choice is -2,2" erm...

alones (alones):

Errr... so it's wrong?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

So you got x= 2 or x=-2, right? Those are the correct x-values. I just don't understand your confusion here: "and so i got 2,-2 but my choice is -2,2"

alones (alones):

Yes, yes.. mkay here {-2, 2} {-2} {2}

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

So...what's the problem?

alones (alones):

The problem is i can''t find the choice.. so it suppose to be backwards?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Are you thinking there is a difference between: x=2 or x=-2 and x=-2 or x=2 ?

alones (alones):

Oh yea i thougth so

alones (alones):

oh damn so i was thinking wrong >.> thanks agent for making it clear

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

They aren't coordinates like (x, y) coordinates (where order matters)... they're just all the x-values that are solutions

alones (alones):

I seee how it goes.
