From a committee of 6 girls and 4 boys, a name is selected. Then another name is selected. What is the probability that both people drawn will be girls? @Aveline

OpenStudy (littlediva12459):

A. 9/25 B. 1/3 C. 3/5 D. 2/15

OpenStudy (aveline):

Any idea?

OpenStudy (littlediva12459):

2/15?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

in the first draw - how many total? how many girls? so what is prob of girl in first draw?

OpenStudy (aveline):

We start out with a chance of 6/10. Then, after we remove one person, our chance of a girl is 5/9. The chance to get two girls is 6/10*5/9 This equals 30/90, which can be simplified to 1/3. Does this make sense?

OpenStudy (littlediva12459):

Yes that makes way more sense thanks for the help can i tag you in my last question
