Mehek (mehek14):

Choose the first equation of each option and switch x and y Solve for y

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

What do you mean by "no need for explanation"? Wouldnt you know the answer already? Here's an example of an inverse: 1) y = 5x + 2 2) Interchange x and y. 3)x = 5y + 2 4) Now isolate y 5)x - 2 = 5y 6) (x - 2)/5 = y Can you apply this example and Mehek's instructions to your problem? Remeber to interchange x and y.

OpenStudy (hippoharry):

i know you have to switch the x and y but i dont know how to when its a fraction like f(x)=12/x -18 and g(x)=12/x+18

Mehek (mehek14):

Well let me help you with option A f(x) = \(\dfrac{12}{x}-18\) \(x=\dfrac{12}{y}-18\) you can start by adding 18 x + 18 = \(\dfrac{12}{y}\) \(\dfrac{12}{x+18}=y\)

Mehek (mehek14):

So that shows A is correct
