1. Consider the system of equations. 2x + 6y = -4 x - 2y = 18 (a) Dean rewrote the second equation as 3x – 6y = 54. What justification did he have for doing this? (b) Dean combined the equation in Part (a) with the first equation in the system to get x = 10. Explain why Dean was justified in doing this. (c) What is the solution of the system?

please help
ok i m here and i will try help you but please collaborate - ok. ?
yes i will
so check this please x - 2y = 18 how you get from this the below equation 3x – 6y = 54.
i dont know
so looke please how you get from x so 3x ?
by multiplying
idk
yes sure by multipliying by 3 - yes ? and than you check in this way you get from 18*3=54 too - ok ?
ok
so what will be the next step ?
idk
thank you soo much for helping me but i have to turn this in in 6 mins
2x + 6y = -4 x - 2y = 18 from this multiplied by 3 resulted 3x -6y =54 yes ? so than you rewrite these equations 2x+6y= -4 3x-6y=54 --------------- and add the same terms what you will get ? 5x 0 = 50 5x=50 x=10 right ?
right
so in this way you get the value of x so now just substitute in place of x inside one equation and calculi the y value do you can get it ?
no sorry i am very bad at math as you can see
do you think you could do it for me I have to turn it in in 5 mins
moment please x - 2y = 18 x=10 10 -2y=18 -2y = 8 y=8/(-2) y= ?
-4
very nice do you understand it now ?
sort of
ok was my pleasure good luck bye bye
anytime just tag me bye bye
