OpenStudy (fifib):

Explain why scientists use tree rings in place of temperature-measuring devices to analyze conditions of long ago.

OpenStudy (fifib):

@Photon336 Can you please explain?

OpenStudy (freeg13):

tree rings reveal how much precipitation feel each year where the tree lives; scientists study tree rings to determine how much precipitation (rain, snow, etc.) fell in past years.

OpenStudy (fifib):

But why don't they just use fancy technology instead? @freeG13

OpenStudy (freeg13):

Um well they are trying to see what the weather was like years ago and since there are no available time-machines I guess they have to use tree's :D

OpenStudy (fifib):

Haha okay thank you for your help :) @freeG13

OpenStudy (freeg13):

your welcome hope you have a nice day
