OpenStudy (tomfoolery1):

A study conducted at a certain college shows that 57% of the school's graduates find a job in their chosen field within a year after graduation. Find the probability that among 5 randomly selected graduates, at least one finds a job in his or her chosen field within a year of graduating. 1) A) 0.570 B) 0.940 C) 0.200 D) 0.985

OpenStudy (tomfoolery1):

so the answer looks to be B? i appreciate it, the steps where confusing but this helps =D

OpenStudy (tomfoolery1):

although i dont understand how you got 65 and 35 from 57?

OpenStudy (tomfoolery1):

what i did was 100-57=43 1-(0.43)^5 = 0.9859915. is D my answer?

OpenStudy (ineedhelplz):

Let me try this again

OpenStudy (ineedhelplz):

Probability that they don't get a job is 43%. So find the prob, that all 8 do not find a job. 0.43^8, then take 1 minus this 1-0.43^8 0.9988 or 99.8%

OpenStudy (tomfoolery1):

so i did do it right then? 0.985 is the answer to at least one of five finds a job?
