I think it is fairly easy to calculate the distance from point A to point B and from Point B to Point C. But the distance from Point A to Point C, can be a bit difficult because it would require for you to use the Pythagorean Theorem: \(a^2 + b^2 = c^2\)

OpenStudy (1607171):

and how do we do that?

OpenStudy (1607171):

Hello?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Now we do \(a^2 + b^2 = c^2\) \(3^2 + 5^2 = c^2\) \(34 = c^2\) \(\sqrt{34} = c\) Perimeter = 3 + 5 + \(\sqrt{34}\)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

In your calculator you need to evaluate what \(\sqrt{34}\) is equal to and then add it to \(3 + 5\). Then round to the nearest tenth.
