Ok well, you have obviously ruled out A and B so good job on that part. You can still get a bad grade on your essay if the rest of it is terrible so the answer is C because the intro paragraph of an essay was created to capture the attention of a reader so they will continue reading the whole thing. 

A good intro paragraph should include (in this order): a good grabber/hook as this will grab the reader's attention; a summary; and a thesis statement.
