OpenStudy (phi):

is this trig ? do you know SOH CAH TOA ?

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

It's probably apart of it. I'm in Geometry and I do a little bit, yes.

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

\[\Large \tan = {opposite \over adjacent}\]

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

\[\tan y = \frac 5 {14}\]

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

\[\Large y = \tan^{-1} \left( 5\over14 \right)\] use your calculator in degree mode...

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

How do I use my calculator in degree mode? Sorry, I'm dumb lol

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

You can practice on your calculator. then look for the \( \tan^{-1}\) button. You probably have to use "select" and then the inverse tan (see figure) next press 1 and then = the answer should be 45 degrees if you can get that to work, try to find the inverse tan of (5/14)
