OpenStudy (aravindg):

A small doubt.

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

the story of my life.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Is f(x)=2-x an odd function? By the definition when I plug in f(-x) I get 2+x which is not equal to 2-x. So is it neither odd or even? I just got confused when I heard in an online lecture that 2-x is odd.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Neither.

OpenStudy (adrimit):

no it is not odd

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Odd functions are symmetric over origin

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

f(-x) does not equal either f(x) or -f(x), so it's neither.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Ah fine. So that person was wrong. I knew it but wanted to confirm it. Thanks guys :)

OpenStudy (adrimit):

correct
