OpenStudy (svmantha1832):

Aidan drives to school and back each day. The school is 16 miles from his home. He averages 40 miles per hour on his way to school. If his total trip takes 1 hour, at approximately what speed does Aidan drive home?

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

Start by looking at everything you're given, and what you still need. The easiest way to do this would be to set it up so "x" is the time it takes him to drive home, and then divide that by the distance. Step one would be to find out how long it takes him to drive to school. Can you set that up?

OpenStudy (svmantha1832):

yes

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

ok, let me know what you get as the time it takes him to get to school.

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

Incidentally : you will be dividing the distance by the time, not time by distance (as I previously mis-typed)
