see u got 2 equations for y ....so u just need to equate them...
I agree. That would be "elimination by substitution." Also available to you would be "elimination by addition / subtraction." Please act on rishavraj' advice.
How would I do that?

Set the first equation = to the second. This will eliminate y. Again, rishavraj is correct. can you, Nelly, now find the value of x that satisfies this equation?
