OpenStudy (maranda0622):

If DB = 4 and DC = 6, find AD. 2 2 2/3 3

OpenStudy (maranda0622):

OpenStudy (will.h):

if the triangles are similar you can use proportional sides rule. \[DC/AD = DB/DB\] Since DB is a side for both triangles. then substitute the lengths of the sides in the formula above, and solve for the missing sides like any normal equation.

OpenStudy (will.h):

like this \[\frac{ 4 }{ 4 } = \frac{ 6 }{ x }\] Solve for x and you will get the answe

OpenStudy (maranda0622):

theres only one triangle

OpenStudy (will.h):

in the picture there are 3 triangles actually. Triangle ABD Triangle BDC Triangle ABC
