OpenStudy (peace420):

Which two types of transformations produce the equivalent result as doing a horizontal reflection and then a vertical reflection on the figure below? rotation and translation reflection and translation rotation and glide reflection reflection and rotation

OpenStudy (peace420):

OpenStudy (peace420):

@jtug6

OpenStudy (jtug6):

I actually dont remember figure transformations really haha, but let me see.

OpenStudy (peace420):

I think it could be D

OpenStudy (jtug6):

@Astrophysics mind helping out on this one? :D

OpenStudy (jtug6):

D makes sense but i'm unsure. I dont think there are any translations that'd occur since we're reflecting and i think we'd only rotate when we reflect over the x-axis. hmm

OpenStudy (peace420):

it was wrong

OpenStudy (peace420):

im gonna try C

OpenStudy (jtug6):

awh. hmmm. yeah i really dont know on this im sorry. i should re-learn it

OpenStudy (peace420):

hahah

OpenStudy (jtug6):

it might be rotation and translation actually. what do you think mathmate

OpenStudy (mathmate):

hint: two reflections about orthogonal axes can be replaced by a rotation of 180 degrees. But two reflections cannot be replaced by an odd number of reflections.
