OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

use the addition property of inequalities to solve the inequality. x-6>4

OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

it also says graph the solution

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Adding and subtracting in inequalities is the same as adding/subtracting in equations. If you add/subtract something to one side, you also add/subtract the same value from the other side.

OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

but how do i do that in this type of problem

OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

x>10?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Yes

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Now graphing is almost the same exact as graphing equations, we just have to shade. Do you know how to graph x = 10?

OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

not really

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Ok, so since it is only x=10, and doesn't give you a y value, y can be anything. |dw:1464044078326:dw|

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Understand so far?

OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

getting there

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

just add to both sides 6 and will get x>10 yes ?

OpenStudy (erniellyd28):

yes
