Smith and Page are selling tickets for a fundraiser. Smith sells tickets for 25 days and sells 20 tickets on the first day and an additional four tickets on each successive day after. Page sells tickets for 30 days and sells 20 tickets on the first day and an additional two tickets on each successive day after. How many total tickets were sold for the fundraiser?

OpenStudy (watermelon14):

do i do 25/2(20+4)^2

OpenStudy (photon336):

Smith so the first day he sells 20 tickets right? so 25-1 is 24, so he is selling tickets for 24 days here after. t(d) = 20+4d to find out the total tickets for smith all you do is multiply 4*24 the number of days. you would apply the same reasoning for the other person too.
