here is the basics of what you need to know

for a quadratic

\[ax^2 + bx + c\]

multiply and and c

then find a par of factors that add to b

you need to know in question 1 both factors are negative...

why... because when you multiply 2 negatives you get the positive c...

and thoughts..?

oops multiply a and c

you have a = 4 and c = 3

find their product... and then look for the factors that add to -8
