I think it would be socialism because it´s not as likely to fail since everyone's basic needs are met. Am i right?

Socialism always leads to dictatorship. The reason a developing country would choose socialism would be because it is forced on them. 
Capitalism is the natural economic system of a free society. Sellers are free to sell. Buyers are free to buy. The government only need provide stability by helping to enforce contracts and such.
Socialism looks good on paper. Everybody gets what they need. But nobody has motivation to work harder or innovate. The reward will be the same. 
And the question alway arise, who decides if you have enough for you needs? Somebody has be the decider.
The decider is the one with the most guns. So everybody is equal but some are more equal than others.
