the vertices of a preimage are located at points (2,3) (0,0) and (-2,1) the image triangle has vertices with coordinates (6,9) (0,0) and (-6,3). What type of dilation is it?

any choices?

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

yeah, A. Rotation B. Reflection C.Expansion D. Contraction @jtug6

OpenStudy (jtug6):

So, look at your coordinates. The pre-image has (2,3), (0,0), and (-2,1) right? And your image is (6,9),(0,0), and (-6, 3). What happened from the pre-image to the image? Did it grow bigger, or did it get smaller?

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

It got bigger?

OpenStudy (jtug6):

Yeah, exactly. The pre-image expanded into the bigger image cause the coordinates grew larger as well. Meaning that it was....?

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

Expansion?

OpenStudy (jtug6):

yeah. or atleast i believe so. ;)

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

ok thanks
