@jhonyy9 ;)

alones (alones):

The width and the length of a rectangle are consecutive even integers. If the width is decreased by 3 inches, then the area of the resulting rectangle is 24 square inches. What is the area of the original rectangle? 12 square inches 48 square inches 96 square inches

OpenStudy (melody323):

Whats the question?

OpenStudy (melody323):

sorry it wasnt coming up at first

OpenStudy (latinc):

first find the multiples of 24

alones (alones):

lol it's fine xD

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sorry but my submit button is blocked and i not can sending to nobody message just writing where he or she help - thank you - yes this is true that i m from Central Europe ,country Hungary ,capital city Budapest - and i not learned never English language all what i know was learned alone from books and internet - from here OS. too -

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

for your help in case of your above exercise i think will be more ussefully than you try drawing it

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you know formula for area of a rectangle ?

alones (alones):

A=w*l

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yes - right try writing it using these given dates for A=24 so than how will be ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so than there is w=(2n-2)-3 and l=2n how will be formula for area in this case ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

in this case A = 2n*(2n-5) 24 = 4n^2 -10n 4n^2 -10n -24 =0 divide both sides by 2 2n^2 -5n -12 =0 do you can solving this quadratic please ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@AloneS

alones (alones):

n=−3/2 or n=4

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

dear @AloneS for n=-3/2 do you think it really true that in case of geometry a length side can being minus how many ? so i think not possibile than remain n=4 so in this case for n=4 how will get these lengths of sides please ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@AloneS

OpenStudy (latinc):

@AloneS it isn't option A/1st/12"
