OpenStudy (brooklynnfaith98):

Find the values of the variables in the parallelogram. The diagram is not drawn to scale. Use theorems involving parallel lines and the sum of the angles of a triangle . The picture is in the comments.

OpenStudy (brooklynnfaith98):

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Wow that diagram doesn't name the angles. I will.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

That's a parallelogram - opposite angles are equal. Angle B = Angle C = 103 degrees.

OpenStudy (brooklynnfaith98):

thank you but what's X and Y? would Y be 21 ..?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

All 4 angles of a parallelogram sum to 360 degrees. Angle C + Angle B + Angle A + Angle D = 360 103 + 103 + Angle A + ANgle D = 360 Angle A + Angle D = 154 degrees Angle = Angle D (opposite angles are equal) Angle A = ANgle D = 77 Degrees

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Angle x = 21 degrees

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Angle y = 77 -21 degrees = 56 degrees

OpenStudy (brooklynnfaith98):

thank you . Could you help me on some questions ?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Well maybe one more.

OpenStudy (brooklynnfaith98):

BM= 2x+3, DM= 3x-2, Am= 3y-2, and CM=2y+4. If ABCD is a parallelogram, what is the value of x?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

BM = MD 2x +3 = 3x-2 x = 5

OpenStudy (brooklynnfaith98):

thank you
