Please help Andrea has $18 to spend. She spent $6.50, including tax, to buy a notebook. She needs to save $5.75, but she wants to buy a snack. If candy bars cost $1.15 per package including tax, what inequality would show the maximum number of packages that Andrea can buy? Solve your inequality by showing your work and steps.

OpenStudy (chibi_lover119):

subtract 18 And 6.50

OpenStudy (jenessa_2413):

I got 11.5

OpenStudy (aveline):

5.75≤x-1.15c≤11.5 where x is equal to the total dollars and c is the number of candy bars. 5.75≤x means that Andrea must have at least $5.75 x≤11.5 means that Andrea must have no more than $11.50 (after buying a notebook) The x-1.15c represents the money lost per candy bar purchased.

OpenStudy (jenessa_2413):

Thank you zoo much @Aveline
