Which argument is valid?
@Mehek14
@Vocaloid
@agent0smith
any ideas? remember, you can only use the information inside the problem.
i guess that is about indirect prove? am i right
nope
i got the 3rd one
remember you're looking for if A then B if B then C if A then C format
the dog one is not correct because it doesn't tell us whether a dog is an animal or not
im debating between the 3rd and 4th
yes so i assume you are right picking C because the others make no sense and can be prove by using the False Assumption
it's either the third or fourth
we just proved that the third is incorrect
second one is wrong because a rectangle can not be a square
so it must be the fourth one
actually, rectangles can be squares, but not by the reasoning in the problem
and 1st is wrong because not just fish have fins and can swim
remember: you can only use the information inside the problem. you are not allowed to bring in outside knowledge
i tought rectangles cant be squares but a square can be a rectangle
all squares are rectangles
its the 4th one
therefore, a rectangle with 4 equal sides is a square
yes, the fourth one is correct
i believe it can be the fourth because in the 2nd statement if a number is divisible by 6 then it is divisible by 2 and that is correct and the 3rd statement is also correct so yeah that is indirect proof and that is correct
thanks
All you needed to do was pay close attention to what vocaloid said.. it doesn't look at all like you were. if A then B if B then C if A then C The statement could say: If all mice are elephants If all elephants are platypuses If it is a mouse, then it is a platypus It's that easy.
