OpenStudy (sarahc):

Why is cambodia a developing economy rather than an emerging economy

OpenStudy (aloharobbo):

Most of the differences between developing and emerging economies is the level of per capita GDP, which is a relative indicator of industrialization. Cambodia's GDP most recently was only $1168 (IMF 2015 est.). In comparison, the per capita GDP of Malaysia, a newly industrialized and emerging economy, is over $9000. Although Cambodia is rapidly growing, it has not reached the level of industrialization, education, and infrastructure to be considered an emerging economy.
