A 5.0 m portion of wire carries a current of 8.0 A from east to west. It experiences a magnetic field of 6.0 × 10^4 T running from north to south. What is the magnitude and direction of the magnetic force on the wire?

OpenStudy (awesome5631):

Please help me

OpenStudy (awesome5631):

I dont get how to answer this question

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

the magnetic force has the subsequent magnitude \(F\): \[F = IlB\] wherein \(I\) is the current; \(l\) is the portion of wire inside the magnetic field: \(B\) is the magnitude of the magnetic field. the corresponding vector \({\mathbf{F}}\), is given by the left hand rule

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

namely, \(l\) is a length
