OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

Check please! An organic farmer wanted to find out how many eggs a typical hen lays during 1 month. She chose 8 hens at random from the 60 hens she has, then recorded the number of eggs each of the 8 hens laid. Number of eggs: 9, 9, 7, 11, 10, 11, 11, 8 What is an estimate of the mean number of eggs laid in the population of 60 hens? 10?

OpenStudy (retireed):

Sure 10 is a good estimate, but why estimate something that is easy to calculate? Mean = 9.5 which rounds up to 10

OpenStudy (cinnamonbun):

((It's actually just 9.5, I got it wrong))
