find discriminant

OpenStudy (sshayer):

D=b^2-4ac

OpenStudy (sshayer):

in ax^2+bx+c=0 d=b^2-4ac

OpenStudy (sshayer):

if d<0,roots are not real. if d=0,roots are real and equal. if d>=0,roots are real and different.

OpenStudy (sshayer):

a=1,b=-2,c=6 find d

OpenStudy (sshayer):

d=4-24=-20<0 so no real roots.

@qwertykingGHLPO since the discriminant is less than zero, you'll have no real solutions because you can't take a square root of a negative number. You'll have what's called imaginary solution though.
